AGREEMENT OF COOPERATION
IN THE FIELD
OF INTERNATIONAL COMMERCIAL ARBITRATION
BEETWEN
THE PERMANENT COURT OF ARBITRATION
ATTACHED TO
THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ADN INDUSTRY
OF SLOVENIA
AND
THE CAIRO REGIONAL CENTRE
FOR INTERNATIONAL COMMERCIAL ARBITRATION

The Permanent Court of Arbitration attached to
the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and The Cairo Regional
Centre For International Commercial Arbitration with
the desire to advance arbitration as a means of settling the disputes arising
out of international commercial transactions, in the spirit of the contractual
freedom of the parties, have agreed as follows:
Article 1
Either arbitration organisation shall recommend to
the natural and legal persons in its country to include in their foreign
trade contracts concluded with natural or legal persons in the other country
the following arbitration clause:
"All disputes which may arise between the parties
out of or in connection with this contract shall be finally settled:
- by the Permanent Court of Arbitration attached to the
Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, if the respondent has his
habitual place of residence or his seat in Slovenia, and
- by the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial
Arbitration, if the respondent has his habitual place of residence or
his seat in Egypt."
Article 2
Either arbitration organisation shall make available
the Arbitration Rules of the other organisation to the business enterprises/business
circles and shall also inform them that they may appoint as arbitrator
any person who qualifies in accordance with the Rules, and may also decide,
by agreement with the other party in the contract, the procedure rules
and the substantive law applicable to the dispute.
Article 3
The two arbitration organisations shall communicate
to each other the list of arbitrators to be made available to the business
enterprise/business circles with an indication these are optional and
informative. Any change in the Arbitration Rules of either arbitration
organisation, including its list of arbitrators, shall be communicated
to the other.
Article 4
The two arbitration organisations will co-operate
in popularising arbitration as a means of settling disputes arising out
of international commercial transaction. Also, they will exchange information
and whenever possible, lectures and publication of mutual interest in
the field of commercial arbitration.
Article 5
The two arbitration organisations shall co-operate
in providing each other with assistance in the selection of persons of
suitable experience and integrity to be included on their respective lists
of arbitrators and mediators.
Article 6
At the request of either party, the other party may
recommend suitable persons for participation in seminars, conferences
and training programs.
Article 7
At the request of either party, the other party may
provide administrative services or any other services necessary for conducting
arbitration, minitrial, conciliation, mediation or negotiation proceedings,
these services shall be at cost.
Article 8
The two arbitration organisations shall constantly
consider the fulfilment of this agreement and if needed they shall adapt
it to the current development in the field of international commercial
arbitration.
Article 9
This agreement may be modified by future agreements
between the parties.
